Daily 5 - READING TO SOMEONE

We have now introduced 'Reading to Someone' as part of the DAILY 5 programme. Children read to each other and then 'check understanding'. If they are the person listening to the story they retell/rephrase what they have heard. It's great for developing comprehension skills. I've noticed that children have also got much better at ensuring they are choosing 'Good Fit' books for themselves; books that are at the right reading level. As you can see from these photos they are really engaged and love learning with a friend!

    Love this Room 10 Blog! Its packed with amazing insights into our children's day and will help make that connection at home to what they have been doing. Love the "buddy" system, power to the children that their knowledge is valued as well. Thanks Sue! Ailsa
